| General Summary: |
Dynamic Senior Software Engineer concerned about application performance/tuning and new feature development. Major focus of work will be on the enhancement (design and implementation) of an existing bulk-price management application, used by our merchants, and a lesser amount will be dedicated to 3rd party merchandise digital content acquisition, and from time to time other projects in diverse internal/external systems may be assigned. The ideal candidate enjoys performance tuning, iterative refinement, and perfecting the code base. We do require some 24/7 support duty. The candidate will participate in every stage of the software development lifecycle.

| Responsibilities: |
• Design and build of different merchandising modules such as: competitive pricing, promotions, markdowns, item attribute maintenance, and bundling.
• Synthesize technical requirements from business requirements for the purpose of creating accurate level of effort estimates
• Evangelize technical design with offshore implementation team
• Support QA process for projects
• Document technical designs
2. Merchandising Tool Suite Ongoing Support & Maintenance (10%)
• Front-end application performance tuning
• Participate in merchandising processes troubleshooting / investigations / user assistance
• Support new releases of code into the production environment
• Participate in team activities
3. Imagery System Design, Build, Support, and Maintenance (40%)
• Design, Build, Support, and Maintenance of batch programs for site imagery (products, brand/logos, category images)
• Participate in imagery processes troubleshooting / investigations / user assistance
• Support new releases of code into the production environment
• Support QA process for projects
• Document technical designs
• Work with the ops team on integration and support issues and mutually-beneficial process optimizations

Experience:
• 5+ years of Java front-end (customer facing website or shipping product)
• 3-4+ years middle-tier development
• 2+ years server-side, non-UI based development
• Functional knowledge of SQL a plus
• Familiarity with source control systems, preferably CVS
• Experience with retail a monumental/overwhelming plus
Minimum educational level:
• BS in Computer Science or related field
